The room was comfortable and had it's own patio area including rocking chairs. Mario and Mercedes are very helpful with organising activities, diving in my case. At the same time they are very respectful of one's personal space. Mercedes prepares wonderful food, giving a sneak peak into Cuban cuisine and local ingredients. One can actually taste the love and care with which it was made. The little chats I had with them over breakfast or dinner, learning more about Cuba, made the food even nicer. The casa is a 10 min walk from the beach and a 5 min walk from the main street. It sparkling clean and has all the amenities one needs. We had so many great conversations with them to know more about Cuba. They helped us during our stay at their casa and to find other casas in Cienfuegos/Trinidad. We did the certification for the open water with the famous Ronel ;- The place is clean, quiet and central ! You should stay there ! They live in a beautiful house, which is well kept, with a lovely garden. Their food is delicious and easily the best place we ate in Playa Giron. We celebrated my girlfriend's birthday during our stay. Mario and his family went above and beyond to make her feel special. He was kind enough to arrange a beautiful personalised birthday cake in secret for me, complete with an amazing birthday meal. He even refused to accept payment for the cake. When she felt unwell after a bug she caught from a beach bar, his wife was so kind, offering to make medicinal teas for her. We had a wonderful time diving, and exploring the local beaches. We would thoroughly recommend. Many thanks to Mario and his lovely family for an amazing stay. The room was spacious and clean, the garden is adorable, the breakfast was delicious but most of all, the guest family was extremely sweet and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and clean and the hosts are very welcoming. Mario arranged our activities and taxis for us. We arrived at 2315 and had enjoyed a bountiful breakfast and had been picked up by the local dive bus by 0800 the next morning. There is a private courtyard at the back of the casa. Playa Giron was such a calm, chilled out place. Perfect if you want to slow things down and relax. When we arrived he explained where all the attractions were and organised for the dive bus to pick us up each morning. There's also an extra bathroom/shower if you plan to go swimming/diving on the same day that you leave, so you don't have to get in a bus/taxi all salty and sandy. Food was great, very much loved the shredded coconut in the crepes. When I wasn't feeling well one evening they made me a herbal tea which helped things settle down.
